The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.
Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
There’s a fantastic televised card at Cheltenham on Saturday (November 16ht) where Andrew heads and has three recommended bets/trades…
CHELTENHAM 1.45
The market for the Grade 2 Arkle Trial is understandably dominated by L’EAU DU SUD and LOOKAWAY, who both made winning chase debuts last month. However, the value could lie with Northern-raider BREIZH RIVER. Paul Robson’s six-year-old failed to score from five runs over hurdles but finished second on three occasions and he has improved significantly since switched to fences, recording form figures of 1131 (3-4), including three wins from three starts on officially good going. He was very game in accounting for Malystic in a Class 2 handicap chase at Kelso last time and he’d be a much shorter price were he based in the south. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting.
Recommendation: Back BREIZH RIVER in Cheltenham 1.45
CHELTENHAM 2.20
The consistent IL RIDOTO has made the frame in the last two runnings of the Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase and can make it third time lucky in this year’s renewal. Those two previous runs – an 8-1 fourth of 14 and 12-1 third of 14 – both came on his reappearance, and I like that fact that the Paul Nicholls-trained seen-year-old has had a prep run this time around. His yard’s runners are largely improving for their comeback efforts this season – they had a host of second time out scorers at Wincanton last Saturday – and his 21-length fifth at Chepstow last month, though disappointing on the face of it, will bring him on. Since joining Nicholls his record on his second start of the season reads 142 (1-3), with the fourth place in a 16-runner handicap chase and the runner-up effort by a short head. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting.
Recommendation: Back IL RIDOTO in Cheltenham 2.20
CHELTENHAM 3.30
It usually pays to come from off the pace in this 2m5f intermediate handicap hurdle and one likely to be ridden patiently is the Dan Skelton-trained MAJOR FORTUNE, who has recorded six wins and a nose second from his last seven starts. His latest victory – at Newton Abbot on October 30th – came over 2m1f on heavy ground but he has won over as far as 3m1.5f and is effective on good ground. Friday’s opener suggested that a wide trip was helpful, and Harry Skelton is most adept at digging out the fastest part of the hurdles track when there’s a bias. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back MAJOR FORTUNE in Cheltenham 3.30
