Racing Tips: Andrew Mount's Spreadex Analysis - Friday, December 13th - Sportscasting UK

Leading horse racing advisor Andrew Mount contributes to various Racing Post publications including the Weekender and Racing & Football Outlook, plus the GG.co.uk website. Unearthing value bets via handy systems and statistics, he shares his latest thoughts with SportsCasting readers below.

The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.

Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew found 11-2 Chelmsford scorer on Thursday and has three recommended bets/trades on Friday, December 13th…

DONCASTER 1.25

PYRAMID PLACE won easily at Kempton last time when 9-2 for a four-runner Pertemps Qualifier over the 2m5f trip but his three rivals all wanted to make the running and ended up cutting each other’s throats, setting the race up for him perfectly. It’s hard to escape the conclusion that he was flattered and Olly Murphy’s seven-year-old rates a sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to chance DARIGIANNINI, who finished behind the selection at Kempton last time.

Recommendation: Oppose PYRAMID PLACE in Doncaster 1.25

BANGOR 3.15

In-form Jane Williams has the chance of another winner courser of LANCELOT ALLEN in the “junior” bumper that closes Bangor’s card today. The track had to survive an inspection and the going, officially heavy, soft in places, looks sure to suit the French-bred three-year-old. Progeny of his sire, Rail Link, have a 15 from 105 record in bumpers for a profit of £48.04 to a £1 level stake at SP and Williams has done well with similar types. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back LANCELOT ALLEN in Bangor 3.15

SOUTHWELL 4.45

LORD RAPSCALLION, the 3-1 third favourite with Spreadex at the time of writing, looks worth opposing in this 7f handicap. The Stuart Williams-trained eight-year-old only went down by a head at Chelmsford last week but the track was eating front-runners alive that night and his patient running style was strongly favoured (the first three home were described as “towards rear”, “midfield” and “midfield”). He hasn’t won since May 2023 and form figures on Tapeta of 045 (0-3) suggest that the switch of surfaces is far from ideal. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose LORD RAPSCALLION in Southwell 4.45
