Rachel Stevens thrills Dancing On Ice fans with 'incredible' debut skate

Rachel Stevens wowed Dancing On Ice fans with an incredible first skate on the ITV show.

The S Club star was forced to miss last week's episode after suffering a nasty injury in training, meaning she had to pull out of week two of the ITV skating show and was given a pass into this week of the programme.

However, she finally made her debut on the ice tonight and fans were overjoyed by her performance.

Taking to Twitter, fans of the ITV show praised the singer for her stunning skate, as she performed a Moulin Rouge inspired dance alongside her professional skating partner Brendyn Hatfield.

One fan wrote: "The best things come to those who wait, and #RachelStevens didn't disappoint at all."

"To be fair to Rachel she's just coming back from a nasty injury & is already way behind the others so she's not gonna be absolutely performance perfect straight away right? Maybe the judges should realise that & just give her a bit of a break?," a second added, defending her, whilst a third shared: "For a first skate, that was quite good!"

A fourth penned: "What a great skate @MsRachelStevens, so proud of you #dancingonice."

Rachel previously opened up about her injury, where she ended up with a fractured wrist and was unable to perform.

Speaking to The Mirror and other press, she said: "I actually wasn't with Brendyn at the time of the fall.

"I was with my coach a couple of weeks before Christmas. I fell quite a few times, obviously as you do - you're trying to push yourself out of your comfort zone. And I just fell and it hurt and obviously I didn't know what I'd done."

Rachel might not have been able to step on the ice at the time, but she was working hard to keep fit as much as possible.

"But after that I had an incredible support, went and got an X-ray done. I've had amazing medical advice from the team and it's healing really really well. I'm so grateful to still be in it and a part of it," she added at the time.

"We're working super hard off ice so fingers crossed, I can get on really really soon. I can't wait to get back on the ice, it's been so frustrating. But we've doing all we can to keep fit before I can get on."
