Chelsea are set for a very busy summer transfer window with Thomas Tuchel attempting to shape the squad into one that fully represents his identity.
The Blues are expected to strengthen in many areas across the team, particularly within the backline, due to the fact that the club could be very light in this department going into next season.
Currently, crucial first-team starters Antonio Rudiger and Cesar Azpilicueta are both out of contract at the end of June this year, with neither at this stage looking likely to commit their long term futures at Stamford Bridge.
Another defender whose contract runs out in the summer is Andreas Christensen.
Whilst the Denmark international has started in all of Chelsea's last five games in all competitions, the chances of him signing an extension are thin according to Matt Law, stating that the club's "negotiations with Christensen's agent are dead".
Christensen is likely to have many clubs fighting to acquire his signature since he will be a free transfer come the summer, but he will not consider a move to another Premier League club.

Interest from Bundesliga sides Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund has been reported previously but there is a growing expectation that the 25-year-old will be wearing a Barcelona shirt according to Florian Plettenberg, with manager Xavi attempting to add a combination of youth and experience within his squad.
In the meantime, Christensen will be hoping that he can deliver a stellar impact in Sunday's Carabao Cup final clash against Liverpool at Wembley, should he be selected to feature.
