Race Across The World returns for 12,000km global adventure without phones or flights

  • The sixth series of BBC One's Bafta-winning Race Across The World will see five new civilian pairs embark on a 12,000km journey from Palermo, Sicily, to Hatgal, Mongolia.
  • Contestants must travel across eight countries without mobile phones, flights or bank cards, adhering to a strict budget of under £26 per person daily, competing for a £20,000 prize.
  • Among the participants are Mark and Margo, fractious in-laws whose relationship evolved from strained to comfortable during the race after caring for a family member.
  • Other teams, including father and daughter Andrew and Molly, and cousins Puja and Roshni, faced significant challenges that tested their relationships and decision-making abilities.
  • Many contestants, such as siblings Katie and Harrison and best friends Jo and Kush, initially found the constant filming daunting but quickly adapted, with the series beginning on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Thursday, April 2.
