R Nagaswamy: Archaeologist who kept digging for knowledge

Chennai

CHENNAI: 'Retire from your job, but never retire your mind' is not an easy adage to adhere to. The life of renowned archaeologist and Padma Bhushan awardee R Nagaswamy would fit the saying perfectly.

At the age of 91, his latest book, 'Senthamizh Naadum Pandbum' was published at the beginning of this year. On Sunday, he breathed last at his residence in Besant Nagar. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.
