Quote of the day by Joaquin Phoenix — “It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to an animal.” The saying focuses on a simple question: does kindness toward animals reduce anything from a person? The message says no. Showing care toward an animal does not reduce a strength, dignity, independence or place in society. The quote is commonly attributed to Joaquin Phoenix on quote websites and animal welfare pages. Its wording also connects with Phoenix’s public record on animal rights. During his 2020 Academy Awards speech, he spoke about animal exploitation, human dominance over other species and the need to use compassion as a guide for change.
