Quote of the day by Chuck Feeney: "I don't dislike money, but there's only so much money you can use" - a timeless lesson in knowing when you have enough

Money is often treated as the clearest possible measure of success. People work toward higher salaries, bigger homes and greater financial security, and rarely stop to question the assumption underneath all of it. Chuck Feeney, the Irish-American businessman who made billions through the Duty Free Shoppers business, took a genuinely different approach to wealth. "I don't dislike money," he said, "but there's only so much money you can use." Feeney never rejected wealth outright, and he never pretended money was unimportant. What he genuinely questioned was how much a single person actually needs for themselves, and what can honestly be done with the rest of it. That question became particularly striking because Feeney went on to give away almost his entire fortune while he was still alive, rather than waiting until after his death, directing billions of dollars toward causes he genuinely cared about through his own foundation over several decades.
