Queer Eye's Tan France announces he and husband are expecting second child via surrogate

Queer Eye star Tan France has announced that he and his husband Rob France are expecting their second child together.

The fashion designer, 39, announced the news this afternoon on the podcast Milk Drunk and teased that the baby is due via surrogate "not so long from now".

Tan and his husband Rob - who have been married since 2007 - are already parents to one-year-old son Ismail France, who was born via surrogate in July 2021.

"We're expecting our second baby. We are over the moon. We have wanted this for a long time. We always knew we wanted multiple [children]," Tan said on the podcast.

Tan shared a clip from the podcast - which is run by organic infant formula brand Bobbie - on Instagram earlier, with him writing about the news in the accompanying caption.

He wrote: "Hard to believe it was two years ago today we announced Ismail was on his way! And today - we couldn't be prouder to share that he's going to be a big brother!"

Tan continued the caption by writing: "Becoming dads has been our greatest joy, and we are so excited to grow our family with the help of our wonderful surrogate."

"I'm excited to share more about our journey through surrogacy, becoming dads of two and a few choice words for anyone with opinions on our choices," he added.

The post has prompted congratulatory messages from his followers on the platform and some fellow celebrities have been among those responding in the comments section.

They included Little Mix member Jade Thirlwall who wrote: "So happy for you". Mad Men star Christina Hendricks commented: "Congrats! How wonderful".

Some of his co-stars from Queer Eye have already reacted to the post, including Antoni Porowski and Karamo Brown. They both shared heart emojis in the comments section.

Tan is best known for providing fashion advice on the popular Netflix reality show, which also stars Jonathan Van Ness and Bobby Berk. The reboot launched back in 2018.

He is also the co-host of fashion design competition Next In Fashion alongside model Gigi Hadid. The show debuted in 2020 and recently returned for its second series.
