The UK is marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee this week, which marks 70 years since Her Majesty's accession. The momentous occasion is being celebrated with a four-day weekend after an extra bank holiday was arranged for Friday, June 3.
The event has meant that some bank holidays in the 2022 calendar have had a reshuffle. Those expecting a day off on Monday, May 30 might have been confused to learn the spring bank holiday had actually moved to Thursday, June 2.
This is when celebrations will begin for the Queen's Jubilee, kicking off with Trooping the Colour. You can read more about this here.

While the UK gets an extra bank holiday this year, it's unlikely to remain in the future. Earlier this year campaigners called for the special June 3 bank holiday to be made permanent, but, according to the Mirror, the prime minister's spokesperson said in April he was "not aware of any plans to make it permanent".
So what are the bank holidays in 2022 still to come and what does the calendar look like in 2023 for England and Wales? Here's everything you need to know.
