Details are starting to emerge about events that will be held to remember the Queen, starting with a public memorial service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, September 9.
Friday will also see other events and commemorations in honour of Her Majesty.
Royal gun salutes will be fired in Hyde Park, central London, by the King’s Troop, and at the Tower of London, by the Honourable Artillery Company, at 1pm. They will be fired 96 times, to mark each year of the Queen’s life.
Bell ringings are also set to take place in churches, such as Westminster Abbey, St Paul’s Cathedral, and Windsor Castle. Churches across the nation are encouraged to do the same.
King Charles has announced the Royal Family will be mourning for at least two weeks. The latest reports suggest the funeral is set to take place in 10 days.
