Queen 'refused official snap with Harry's daughter Lilibet due to medical concern'

Prince Harry is said to be "still keen" to get an official photo of the Queen alongside his daughter Lilibet after missing out on getting one during the Jubilee celebrations.

Harry and wife Meghan Markle travelled to the UK last month from their home in California with their children Archie, three, and one-year-old Lilibet.

But no official photo of Lilibet meeting her great grandmother the Queen was released - and it has been reported that the monarch was not keen on an image being taken as she had a bloodshot eye at the time of the meeting.

The Sussexes trip to the UK was the first time that Lilibet, who was born in the US, had visited her father's homeland and she celebrated her first birthday with a party at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor - her parents' UK home.

And it was the first time that her great-grandmother the Queen and her grandfather Prince Charles were able to meet the little girl.

However, unlike her older brother Archie, no picture of Lilibet together with the monarch has been released.

It follows reports that the Queen banned Harry and Meghan from having a photographer present when she met great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time.

The Sussexes were apparently keen to bring a photographer to the pair's first face-to-face meeting at Windsor Castle but the request was refused.

According to royal expert Camilla Tominey, the Queen did not want a picture taken during their first meeting, which happened as soon as Harry and Meghan arrived in the UK, as she had a bloodshot eye and did not want to be in any images that were going to be made public.

And writing in the Telegraph, she claims that Harry is thought to have expressed his desire to get a photo between the two "at some point in the future".

Meanwhile, it is reported that at Lilibet's first birthday party only Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips' children attended - while their parents attended the Epsom Derby.

A source told the newspaper: "There was a bit of reluctance among the royals to admit to having any involvement in Lilibet’s birthday party.”

However, following the Jubilee released a new picture of Lilibet celebrating her first birthday.

The "candid and spontaneous" image was taken by photographer Misan Harriman at a birthday picnic.

Lilibet's birthday picnic even featured a cake from baker Claire Ptak, who made one for Harry and Meghan's wedding in 2018.

The Sussexes were noticeably absent from the limelight during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and were spotted sitting several rows behind Prince Charles and Prince William during Friday's Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's cathedral.

They were kept at arm’s length by the royals during the celebrations and left without any public appearances alongside the Queen, Charles, Camilla, William or Kate.

The couple reportedly left the UK before the conclusion of the final events marking the Queen's 70 years on the throne.
