The late Queen's closed coffin will rest on a raised platform inside Westminster Hall this week for members of the public to pay their respects.
The lying in state at the Palace of Westminster will open to the public at 5pm on Wednesday, September 14 and will be open for 24 hours a day until it closes at 6.30am on Monday, September 19. During this period, you will be able to pay your respects to the late monarch.
However, a warning has been issued by the government and security services that queues could be so long that you may wait 20 hours in line before seeing the Queen's coffin. This warning has also been extended as it is expected there will be little to chance to rest in the queue as it will be continuously moving.
