Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story: Bristol actors in series that got near-perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes

Fans have been glued to Netflix as the latest Bridgerton instalment has hit the streaming service. The prequel, created by Shonda Rhimes, drew 148.28 million hours of viewing worldwide in the four days after its May 4 premiere, according to Netflix’s internal measurement.

It focuses on the monarch's rise to power and prominence in her early days of reigning as the Queen of the United Kingdom. The show consists of past and present plotlines interwoven to tell her story. The one in present Bridgerton is set in 1817 and follows the aftermath of the death of the royal heir, Princess Charlotte.

While grieving, the Queen — played by Golda Rosheuvel — pressures her children to marry and produce another royal heir. The other storyline — set even before that in 1761 — tells of the marriage between a young Queen Charlotte — played by India Ria Amarteifio — and King George III.
