Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story actor teases 'beautiful' future for character

Bridgerton star Hugh Sachs has hinted Brimsely’s heart-breaking revelation in the Queen Charlotte spin-off could continue into season three.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story follows the royal heir and her marriage with King George. The six part mini-series has been popular with fans and garnered excitement for the new full season of the Netflix show, the release date for which has not been confirmed

Thankfully, as reported by the Express, it seems the show's startling revelations will have ramifications for the next instalment. Please note that this article will contain spoilers for Queen Charlotte.

In the spin-off, Brimsley was a pivotal part of the show, unlike in the main Bridgerton series, and was revealed to be secretly gay. A young Brimsley, played by Sam Clemment, was forced to hide his relationship with fellow footman Reynolds, played by Freddie Dennis.

Sachs, who reprised his role as the older Brimsley, hinted there could be more to come for the character. Speaking on the BAFTA TV awards red carpet, Sachs said: “Everyone wants to know what happened to them, but I cannot say anything!”

He admitted Brimsley's fate would be in the hands of Shonda Rhimes, the head writer of Bridgerton. Nevertheless, Sachs is pleased the plot line has resonated with fans.

Sachs said: “The fans have wanted it for quite a while, a gay love story, and the way she wrote it and the way Sam and Freddie acted it is so beautiful, it’s really helped me actually. We actually started filming season three after Queen Charlotte, and the costume department gave me a ring, which I’ve decided Reynolds had given him. So Reynolds is always with him.”
