Qatar pitches tent city to accommodate World Cup fans - for £350 a night

A tent city is being pitched for footie fans at Qatar’s World Cup – but the experience will be more Arabian nights than festival camping.

Tournament organiser FIFA unveiled the two-person tents at the coastal village of Al Khor as the cheapest official accommodation for fans – costing around £350 a night.

They have air conditioning, an ensuite bathroom, coffee and tea-making facilities, a TV with free-to-air channels, a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fridge, safety deposit box and wifi.
