‘Putney pusher’ suspect found dead – police issue statement

  • Nicholas Brandram, the 44-year-old prime suspect in the 2017 Putney pusher case, has been found dead at his home in Chiswick , west London .
  • The Metropolitan Police stated that officers and paramedics attended the property on Tuesday evening, and the death is currently being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.
  • Mr Brandram, a former British Army captain and HSBC banker who was a descendant of Queen Victoria , was arrested in June on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm.
  • The 2017 incident involved a jogger forcibly shoving a 33-year-old woman into the path of an oncoming double-decker bus on Putney Bridge .
  • Police had interviewed over 50 men and previously closed the investigation in 2018 without charge before arresting Mr Brandram earlier this year.
