Putin 'plotting to unleash Novichok in mass poisoning to force Ukraine into surrender'

Vladimir Putin could resort to using Novichok to poison Ukrainians into surrendering, US officials reportedly claim.

The deadly nerve agent was used in 2018 against Sergei Skripal in the Salisbury poisoning by Russian spies sent to wipe out the former Kremlin intelligence officer.

Putin's political rival Alexei Navalny was also targeted with the compound.
