Punjab: Witness of partition, Algoza exponent Chuhar Khan, having faced abject penury, laid to rest

BATHINDA: Playing Algoza (folk instrument) was his passion and Chuhar Khan lived with it for decades before breathing his last only three days before 75th anniversary of India' Independence. Having witnessed miserable stories of the partition, he would have been taking part in 75 years of Independence but failed to become witness to the big occasion and breathed his last on Saturday.

He lived all through the life in abject penury and was made to sweat out in grain market of his native village Chotian in district Sangrur of Punjab, in the evening of his life while working as labourer, year after year but Chuhar never had complained.
