Punjab scraps Mattewara project after widespread protests

Bhagwant Mann Punjab CHANDIGARH

CHANDIGARH: Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday announced that no industrial unit will be set up at the proposed site near the Mattewara forest so as to save the precious water resources and trees of the area.

The decision follows widespread protests over the move for setting up a textile park in the Mattewara forest area in Ludhiana.
