Punjab: One held with illegal gun, Rs 2.5 lakh

CHANDIGARH: Police arrested one person with a pistol, seven live cartridges and Rs 2.50 lakh cash.

Police said that the accused has been identified as Kanwaljit Singh Brar, 25, a resident of Faridkot district of Punjab.

Cops said he was arrested from press light, Sector 17-18 dividing road when he was stopped at a naka. Cops said he tried to flee but was chased and caught. Police booked the accused under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Sector 17 police station. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
