LUDHIANA: A 2.5-year-old girl was raped by a 25-year-old man in Sahnewal area on Saturday afternoon. The people nabbed the accused and handed him over to the police.
The accused and the toddler’s family live in the same Labor quarter.
According to the mother of the girl, her daughter was playing outside their rented accommodation on Saturday afternoon and suddenly went missing. She started searching for her. Meanwhile, she heard her cries emitting from the common bathroom of the labour quarter.
The mother went there and saw accused raping her daughter. She raised an alarm following which the locals gathered there and nabbed the accused and informed the police.
Inspector Pawan Kumar, SHO at police station Sahnewal said that the accused told police that he lured the girl with the chocolates and took her to bathroom where he raped her. An FIR has been lodged.
