Punjab government announces Rs 40 lakh cash award for CWG 2022 bronze medallist weightlifter Harjinder Kaur

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 40 lakh for weightlifter Harjinder Kaur after she claimed a bronze medal in the 71 kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

A resident of Nabha in Patiala district, Harjinder totalled 212 kg (93kg in snatch and 119kg in clean and jerk) to finish on the podium on Monday night.
