NEW DELHI: RoundGlass Punjab FC, the champions of the I-League, have officially been granted promotion to the top-tier Indian Super League (ISL) after fulfilling the necessary licensing criteria set by the All India Football Federation (AIFF). The AIFF's Club Licensing Committee met via video conference and awarded Punjab FC the Premier 1 Licence, which is a requirement to compete in the ISL.
Punjab FC secured the Premier 1 Licence based on their achievement as the Hero I-League champions in the 2022-23 season. The club, formerly known as Minerva Punjab FC, underwent a rebranding after being acquired by RoundGlass Sports Pvt Ltd. in April 2020.
