JALANDHAR: In a new development in the Sikh political sphere, Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma, who was so far a firm ally of the Badals-led Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) for over a decade, on Saturday attended a function organised by Badal loyalist-turned-adversary Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Harmeet Singh Kalka. The event was organised by Kalka’s Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi State) at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi to release its election symbol ‘Tokri’ (basket).
In his speech, Dhumma, without naming Badals, said for quite some time the Akali Dal had turned its back on the principles for which it was established and huge damage was caused to the panth (community).
