MOHALI: Former Cabinet Minister and now an accused in a drugs racket case, Bikramjit Singh Majithia alleged of being subjected to an insecure atmosphere and poor living conditions in jail. Majithia has filed a fresh application in the local court on Wednesday after which the court has put jail authorities on notice to file a reply by April 8.
Majithia in his fresh complaint alleged that he has been moved to ‘Jora Chakki’ cell which is in extremely dilapidated condition. The cell is 8 feet by 8 feet, further there is a toilet seat in a 3 feet area which is separated from the cell by bricks at the height of 2 feet. There is no water in the toilet. This cell has been used to punish inmates. The ‘Jora Chakki’ for the longest time has not housed any inmate as it is unfit for safe human stay. He is 6 feet 4 inches in height and it is virtually impossible for him to lie down in the cell.
