Punjab AAP gears up for high-stakes bypoll

Bhagwant Mann Punjab Lok Sabha CHANDIGARH Dhuri

CHANDIGARH: The AAP is gearing up for the Lok Sabha byelection in Sangrur, a seat chief minister Bhagwant Mann clinched for his party in 2014 and 2019.

The seat fell vacant after Mann resigned on March 14 after being elected from Dhuri assembly constituency. The parliamentary constituency includes nine assembly seats falling in Sangrur, Barnala and Malerkotla, all of which were won by AAP candidates in the recent assembly polls.
