Pune: Duo nabbed after robbing 2 on eway by offering lifts

Pune Police SUV Hinjewadi

PUNE: The Hinjewadi police on Thursday claimed to have arrested two men, who had robbed a techie and a businessman between Wakad and Talegaon Dabhade in separate incidents by offering them a lift in their sports utility vehicle (SUV) on May 27 and 30, respectively.

The duo committed these crimes to repay the SUV’s loan installments and to spend money on food and liquor parties, the police said. “We are investigating if they are involved in more such crimes,” senior inspector Vivek Mugalikar of the Hinjewadi police said.
