Britpop band Pulp have announced they will be performing in Manchester later this year for the first time in more than 20 years as part of their summer reunion tour.
Known for hits including Common People, Disco 2000 and Help the Aged, the band announced their reunion last year following a ten year hiatus. Fronted by Jarvis Cocker, Pulp have released seven albums since 1983.
The band are playing a series of summer festivals including this weekend’s Neighbourhood Weekender in Warrington. The band will also play a series of previously announced solo shows in London, Scarborough, Cardiff and their hometown Sheffield.

Three new dates as part of Pulp’s summer tour were announced today with a performance at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl set for July 4. They will also perform two nights at London's Eventim Apollo on July 28 and 29.
The Castlefield Bowl show, which will feature support from indie musician Baxter Dury, will be the band’s first gig in Manchester for 22 years. Pulp last performed in the city at the O2 Apollo on November 25, 2001 as part of their We Love Life tour.
Former Pulp bassist Steve Mackey died at the age of 56 in March of this year. Last year, whilst announcing he would not be involved in the reunion tour, Mackey said he wished the band the ‘very best with forthcoming performances in the UK’.
Cocker will be joined by keyboardist Candida Doyle, drummer Nick Banks and guitarist Mark Webber on the 2023 gigs.
Tickets for the Castlefield Bowl show will go on sale on June 2 at 9am via GigsandTours and Ticketmaster.
