A dog kissing booth has taken over a Massachusetts neighborhood as passersby enjoy some smoochies from a very special golden retriever.
Haley Scott has set up shop right outside the window of her Waltham home that she shares with her three-year-old pup, Driver.
Locals walking past the window, just off Moody Street in the bustling downtown area, can receive kisses from Driver, free of charge.
"If we're just home hanging out, then we open up shop," Scott told NBC10 Boston.
Scott came up with the idea last summer after seeing how much Driver loves to watch downtown life unfold outside, which his owner calls his “street TV.”
It’s no surprise that Driver loves pets and kisses. Golden retrievers are known for their friendly nature and are often employed as therapy dogs for their ability to soothe others, according to the American Kennel Club.
Some Driver fans travel to experience the kissing booth for themselves.
"People need the joy and unconditional love from a dog like a golden retriever," Annie Farrell, who visited Driver Thursday, told NBC10 Boston.
Scott said that Driver — who was named after her truck-driving father, who unexpectedly died several years ago — leaves all his customers with “100% satisfaction guaranteed."
"I think part of the charm is that it's gonna be a surprise if you find him," Scott said.
Some of Driver’s favorite things are tennis balls, swimming and, of course, treats.
"If you come visit, you can also give Driver a treat, but just keep it to one because he is trying to watch his figure,” Scott joked.
Scott and Driver set up the kissing booth to bring joy to the neighborhood.
"Ultimately, I’m doing this because it makes people happy, and so if this made you smile, then go do something to make someone else smile," Scott said.
