An urgent appeal has been issued to track down a man with links to south Wales who absconded from prison. Jon Marc Stephens failed to return to the open prison HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire on Wednesday (August 17).
The 36-year-old, who had been released on temporary licence, is known to have been in the Severn Beach area until around 1pm. He was wearing black clothing and a fluorescent tabard.
Anyone who sees Stephens is warned not to approach him but to call 999 immediately. Avon and Somerset Police tweeted a picture of Stephens at 10.42pm on Wednesday.

Alongside the headshot of Stephens, the post read: "We need your help to find a man who's failed to return to an open prison. Please don't approach Jon Marc Stephens, 36, if you see him but call us on 999 quoting reference 5222198207."
