Pub Landlord Al Murray stuns Susanna Reid with 'new look' on Good Morning Britain

Pub Landlord comedian Al Murray stunned Susanna Reid with a different look when he appeared on Good Morning Britain (GMB) today (March 28). The funnyman is famous for appearing shaven headed in his comedy routine where he impersonates an avuncular publican.

However when he went on GMB today he sported facial hair - and hair on the top of his head too, BirminghamLive reported. Host Susanna noticed the change and said: “I was thinking something was different about you and of course, it isn’t just the shaving, but it’s the hair. I am so observant.”

Murray replied: “Thanks Susanna. People always say ‘have you lost weight?’ and I get sent things on Instagram being asked ‘do you want baldness cures?’ and things.”

Richard asked: “Do you ever feel you have created a monster you can’t escape?” Al said: “When I cut my hair off, yeah.” Richard said: “Oh so you actually cut your hair off? You don’t wear a bald thing?” The comic replied: “No no.”

Al Murray appeared on Good Morning Britain to discuss his new Spitting Image show (ITV)

Al looked a far cry from his former persona as the bald, clean shaven conservative pub landlord as he appeared in the studio for the chat about Spitting Image. Instead, he was sporting hair on his head and stubble. Theatre-goers can expect “the biggest cast of celebrities ever assembled” when they go to the Spitting Image live shows.

Al said previously. “There’s 105 people in this show... It’s the biggest cast of celebrities ever assembled on any stage,” Murray told Sky News. “This is just such an extraordinary project to be involved in... how people react to the puppets on stage is a brilliant thing.”

He added: “We’re working in the world of grotesquery, so you can’t hold back… any sense that we’re treading on ice I think would undercut the show.”
