CHANDIGARH: Members of the student body, SATH, met dean, students welfare to discuss the problem of water supply faced by hostel students.
Students told authorities that almost all hostels were facing water supply issues and students were moving from one block to another for basic sanitation, bathing and washing clothes.
They said this also caused them to get delayed for classes as they could not get ready on time. They said that there had been incidents of cooking in the mess getting disrupted because of water shortage.
Since sources said a workers’ agitation had caused the scarcity, students asked authorities to meet the workers’ demand as the issue was affecting students.
The students submitted a memorandum to the director, students welfare who said that the issue would be resolved in about three to four days. SATH leaders Harmanpreet Singh, Jodh Singh and Sehajpreet Singh were among those who were present in the meeting at PU.
