It might seem odd to face off the PS5 vs. Xbox Series X vs. Nintendo Switch, as the latter is very much not a traditional games console and is based on less than cutting-edge tech. But not everyone has the roughly $1,400 to get them all so must make a tricky choice of which one is the right home video game console for them.
And if you're fairly new to gaming you may be weighing up the exclusive games appeal of the PS5 against the Xbox Series X ecosystem, against the portability and family-friendly nature of the Nintendo Switch; that's to say nothing of the Nintendo Switch OLED.
