Prunella Scales’ two sons to each get £1.2m from late actor’s will

  • Fawlty Towers actor Prunella Scales left a net estate worth £3,166,554 following her death aged 93 in October 2025, according to official probate filings.
  • Her sons Samuel and Joseph will each inherit 40 per cent of her estate, with her stepdaughter Juliet receiving 20 per cent.
  • Scales also bequeathed funds to her goddaughters and several charities, including £10,000 to The Snipe Charitable Trust.
  • The actor was best known for playing Sybil Fawlty in the BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers and starring alongside her late husband Timothy West in Great Canal Journeys .
  • Official records show that probate was formally granted on 11 August 2026.
