A pre-planning application proposal has been submitted to Belfast City Council to redevelop a popular nightlight area in South Belfast.
FMN Properties Ltd have submitted a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) which could see the 'Flithy Quarter' in the Dublin Road area of the city see the addition of managed student accommodation.
A PAN is not a planning application but a notice to the council advising of how the developer intends to engage with the community about their proposal.

The proposal relates to 41-49 Dublin Road and 3-5 Ventry Street. Bar and nightclub space Filthy McNasty's currently occupies number 45 Dublin Road with its sister pub Liquor XXX located in number 49.
The proposal outlines the "redevelopment of site to provide public house and purpose built managed student accommodation".
A proposed public exhibition and drop-in event relating to the proposed redevelopment will be taking place at the Clayton Hotel in Belfast in January 2023.
Earlier this year, an application to transform two former restaurants/takeaways in the area to make room for a new 10-storey apartment block was given the green light.
The application to demolish No. 57 to 63 Dublin Road and construct a £14 million residential complex comprising a cafe and 85 serviced apartments was approved in March 2021.
In September 2022, the development was acquired by property development start-up Z Property Group.
