Property raided in operation targeting West Belfast UDA

Police have confirmed that a property was raided on Thursday evening by officers targeting the West Belfast UDA.

Officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force carried out the search on Thursday evening as part of an ongoing probe into suspected criminality linked to the group.

Police have thanked local residents for their ongoing support.

Detective Sergeant Gourley said: "These searches are a demonstration of the PCTF’s commitment to tackle all types of organised criminality linked to paramilitaries, in an ongoing effort to rid our communities of the harm these groups cause and of their coercive control.

The Paramilitary Crime Task Force is a multi-agency task force set up in Northern Ireland to protect communities by tackling all forms of criminality linked to paramilitarism. It consists of the Police Service of Northern Ireland, the National Crime Agency and HM Revenue & Customs.
