Probe after pupil, 11, hit by train on way to school in south London

A probe has been launched after an 11-year-old school pupil was fatally struck by a train at a footpath crossing in south London.

Jaiden Shehata, a pupil at Riddlesdown Collegiate, was struck by a train and fatally injured while crossing the Bourneview footpath crossing between Whyteleafe and Kenley in Croydon, shortly after 8am on January 23.
