T'PURAM: Pro-left KSEB officers association announced an indefinite sit-in strike in front of Vydhuthi Bhavan from Monday (April 11) against suspension of association president MG Suresh Kumar and state office-bearer Jasmin Banu.
Suresh Kumar and general secretary B Harikumar told reporters on Thursday that the association, with support of trade unions and service associations, will intensify agitation against KSEB CMD B Ashok. They said both Suresh Kumar and Banu were suspended on flimsy grounds and KSEB management's attitude since the Left government has been in power was unprecedented and astonishingly anti-employee.
As part of strengthening the protest, suspension orders will be burnt in all KSEB offices on Friday. The association will declare non-cooperation with the management on Monday. This will be done by not causing inconvenience to public, the leaders said. A coordination committee will be formed on April 12 to discuss strengthening the agitation by laying siege on Vydhuthi Bhavan, they said.
Meanwhile, KSEB management issued a statement, stating that further disciplinary action will be taken against association leaders who raised graft allegations against the CMD indirectly. The statement has termed the association leader's innuendo baseless that how a new Tata Harrier appeared at the house of CMD's driver should be probed, especially since the CMD has taken initiative to buy 65 Tata electric cars.
