Pro Football Focus names one player Ravens should sign ahead of 2022 training camp

The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver group currently consists of extremely young players that are looking to use their talent to make an impact on the field in 2022. The room saw a big trade impact their personnel, as during the 2022 NFL Draft, Baltimore traded wide receiver Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals. The team also lost Sammy Watkins in free agency, and moved on from Miles Boykin. Following the move, what the Ravens have left are second-year wideouts Rashod Bateman and Tylan Wallace, third-year players in Devin Duvernay and James Proche II as well as others.

In an article published by Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus, he named one trade or free agent acquisition for all 32 NFL teams before 2022 training camp. When it came to Baltimore, Kyed believed the team should sign Miami Dolphins free agent wide receiver Will Fuller V. When explaining his reasoning, Kyed said Fuller could hold a role similar to what Brown had.

“The Ravens are currently set to start 2021 first-round pick Rashod Bateman, Devin Duvernay and James Proche at wide receiver after trading away Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals and losing Sammy Watkins in free agency. Fuller has had trouble staying healthy, but he could be a reasonable facsimile of Brown if he’s looking to play in 2022. The Ravens were identified as an attractive landing spot for veteran wide receivers, per one source.”

Fuller, 28, has had a hard time staying healthy through the course of his career. He has not once played a full NFL season throughout his six year career. Prior to the 2021 season with the Dolphins, Fuller played with the Houston Texans where he showed flashes of greatness at the position, even if his seasons were cut short.

The Ravens could be in the hunt for a wide receiver and Fuller makes the most sense for the team right now, even if they roll the dice on him playing a full season in 2022. He is a deep-threat that could replace some of the production that the team lost in Brown, and could be worth taking a chance on for Baltimore.

In six seasons as a professional, Fuller has caught 213 passes for 3,136 yards and 24 touchdowns.
