Man arrested after bail breach prompts law change

A man has been arrested after allegedly breaching his bail by cutting off an ankle monitor, prompting the announcement of an end to private companies providing the service to help people get released.

But legal changes will be needed to bring round-the-clock monitoring in-house after "repeat instances" of bailed alleged offenders committing serious offences.
