Prisoner breaks free of handcuffs and punches deputy in chaotic courthouse escape attempt

A newly-sentenced criminal slipped his handcuffs, punched a deputy in the throat, and barged his way almost to freedom during a wild escape attempt in Ohio.

Timothy Reaggle, 20, of Wellsville, had just been sentenced to a year in prison for a slew of charges, including assault and burglary, at Columbiana County Court.

He was being escorted down a hallway when he managed to break free of his restraints, attack one deputy, and then make a break for the door.

Surveillance video shows him knocking another deputy to the floor, sliding down a flight of stairs, and almost making it to the courthouse entrance before he is felled by a Taser shot.
