Priscilla Presley tearful and says her 'heart is broken' in tribute to daughter Lisa Marie

Lisa Marie Presley's family sobbed as they said their goodbyes to the only daughter of Elvis Presley.

Priscilla Presley thanked people for coming together to pay their respects to her daughter at the memorial in Graceland, saying: "I'm blown away by how many people are here today."

She added: "I'm going to read something that my granddaughter wrote for all of you.

"The old soul, this is a poem. I have no idea how to put my mother into words. Truth is, there are too many.

"Lisa Marie Presley was an icon, a role model, a superhero to so many people all over the world. But momma was my icon, my superhero."

Priscilla finished her speech saying: "My heart is missing her love. She knew that I loved her.

"Our heart is broken Lisa we all love you."

Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's daughter, had written: "I remember how every time you'd leave town you'd bring me a new tea set. I remember the notes you would leave in my lunchbox everyday.

"I remember how it felt to be loved by the most loving mother in the world. Thanks for showing me that love is the only thing that matters in this life."

"I am a product of your heart, my sisters are a product of your heart. I hope you know how loved you are here," she added in a speech read by her husband.

Lisa had made a list of requests for her funeral, with the first being to "not make it sad".

The service was opened with a choir singing Amazing Grace to mourners.

Lisa Marie died at the age of 54 after she suffered two cardiac arrests in her home in Calabasas, California on January 12.

Her mum, Priscilla Presley broke the news that her daughter had passed away.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," she said.

"She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known," Priscilla said in a statement.

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss."

TMZ reported that she was found unresponsive in her bedroom and her ex-husband Danny Keough, who also lives at the property, tried to save her.

He performed CPR but it was too late.

Lisa Marie's daughter Riley Keough, 33, was seen stepping off a private jet ahead of the funeral. She wore a cosy jumper and sweatpants, and wore her hair loose.

Riley lit up a cigarette outside the airport after she arrived just after her grandmother Priscilla landed.

Lisa Marie's ex husband Michael Lockwood arrived with Priscilla. Michael is the father to Lisa Marie's twin daughters Harper and Finley, 14.

Lisa Marie will be buried at Graceland on Sunday beside her father and her son, Riley's brother, who took his own life in 2020.

The grey marble sarcophagus that Lisa Marie will be buried beside is the exact same as her son Benjamin's.

Photos of the pair together have been placed in front of their monuments.

Benjamin's resting place was moved slightly to make space for his mum.

The plaque that will cover the grave is covered in tarpaulin for protection.

For the public part of the ceremony, a stage has been constructed on the front lawn.

Hundreds of seats were set out on the grass as well as screens put up to make sure mourners could get a clear view.

Lisa Marie was just nine years old when her dad died and had been obsessed with her own mortality since.

She often spoke about the graveyard in the Graceland estate.

"How many people have a family grave in the backyard? How many people are reminded of their fate, of their mortality, every f**king day?

"All the graves are lined up and there's a spot there, waiting for me, right next to my grandmother," she told Playboy in 2003.
