King Charles III has ascended to the throne following the passing of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The Monarch was the rightful heir based on the Succession of the Crown Act 2013. The next in line to the throne is now the monarch's eldest son, Prince William. Prince William was formerly known as the Duke of Cambridge.
William now inherits his father's previous title of Prince of Wales. He has also inherited the titles of Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay.

Princess Kate inherits the title of William's late mother - Princess Diana. Kate becomes Princess of Wales, as well as inheriting the titles Duchess of Cornwall and Duchess of Rothesay.
King Charles III confirmed the changes in his first address to the nation as monarch. After paying a poignant tribute to his late mother, the new King also promised to serve our nation as Her Majesty did.
He said: "As The Queen herself did with such unswerving devotion, I too now solemnly pledge myself, throughout the remaining time God grants me, to uphold the Constitutional principles at the heart of our nation.
"And wherever you may live in the United Kingdom, or in the Realms and territories across the world, and whatever may be your background or beliefs, I shall endeavour to serve you with loyalty, respect and love, as I have throughout my life."
Many people reacted to Princess Kate becoming the first Princess of Wales since Princess Diana on Twitter. Kandi Senna said: "I know Kate will do her proud but must be hard for William".
Rob Gilbert-Warsop said: "Congratulations to the new Prince and Princess of Wales". Sorel said: "I think Catherine will be a great successor following Diana as Princess of Wales".
