The Princess Diaries 3 will provide "wish fulfilment for queens", according to director Adele Lim.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 star Anne Hathaway - who played Mia Thermopolis in the first two films alongside Dame Julie Andrews as Queen Clarisse Renaldi - is returning to the role for a third film and now Adele - who is onboard to direct - has given an update revealing the next installment will focus on an older audience as fans of the 2001 original The Princess Diaries and 2004 sequel The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement have all grown up.
