Princess Charlotte's five-second act proves she's the Royals' 'secret weapon'

Princess Charlotte has been praised as the Royal Family’s “secret weapon” after her mature appearance during the coronation.

The eight-year-old was praised for her “poised” performance throughout the three-day celebrations last weekend as she appeared with her parents and two brothers.

During the concert she was spotted dabbing during her father's Coronation speech at the concert on Sunday, with many joining in at home.

Royal commentators were also impressed with her down to earth nature and showed off her playful side when she dropped a s'more but followed the five second rule and popped it in her mouth.

Columnist Angela Mollard said the young royal was "poised yet enthusiastic, watchful but involved" throughout.

She told 7News: “With all the focus on the new King and Queen, the Princess of Wales’ effortless glamour and the new royal wave introduced by Prince Louis, one person was overlooked in the pomp and pageantry of the coronation.

“She is only eight, a spare and not an expected heir, but Princess Charlotte has revealed herself to be the royal family’s secret weapon.

“For now, the third in line to the throne is enjoying a playful normal childhood but if, as expected, she does turn out to have the work ethic and the chutzpah of Princess Anne, along with the style of her mother and grandmother, the royal family will be counting their blessings.”

Earlier today it was reported Prince William has struggled in the past when buying gifts for his beloved wife Kate.

He once admitted to getting her an awful present that she has "never let him forget" after it left her completely baffled.

William revealed the bizarre present during an appearance on former England striker Peter Crouch's podcast on BBC Radio Five Live.

In a discussion about presents, Crouch confessed to buying his model wife Abbey Clancy a raincoat three years running for her birthday.

And William admitted: "I did get my wife a pair of binoculars once - she's never let me forget that.

"That was early on in the courtship that was - I think that sealed the deal.

"It didn't go well. Honestly, I have no idea why I bought her a pair of binoculars, it seemed like a good idea at the time."

William appeared on the podcast in 2020, where he talked about his love of football, both watching and supporting the beautiful game.

But it seems playing in matches is now taking its toll on the 40-year-old, who admitted his struggle earlier this week.

It came as he was carrying out an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he handed ex-England striker Luther Blissett an OBE.
