Princess Charlotte has always been there to help her two brothers in the spotlight and she's often spotted reminding them of what they should be doing as they get used to royal duties. At the Queen's funeral yesterday, the Prince and Princess of Wales' eldest children attended to pay their respects to their beloved 'Gan Gan' while youngest son, Prince Louis, four, was kept at home.
One adorable moment saw Charlotte whispering to her big brother, reminding him to bow when the coffin passed. In another more subtle clip, seven-year-old Charlotte could be seen getting out of the car at Westminster Abbey, then turning around to check Prince George was near her.
George and Charlotte travelled to the late monarch's procession in the same car as the Queen Consort, with mum Kate Middleton arriving with them.
In the footage that shows them getting out of the car, Charlotte can be seen taking slow steps, then quickly turning around to watch George step out and walk beside her.
The siblings support each other and stand side-by-side as they greet royal staff before going into the Abbey.
A royal fan shared the sweet moment on TikTok and fellow spectators were overwhelmed with emotion at the pair's close friendship.
"She's a little superstar that one. She absolutely knows her duty and what she was born into," one person said.
"She's going to be the next Princess Anne. Rock solid, firm but fair. George is lucky to have such a sister by his side," another agreed.
A third wrote: "I think they needed each another. You could see they wanted to be there abd it was like they'd promised to look after one another."
It's understood William and Kate thought long and hard while having discussions with the children before deciding they would attend the Queen's funeral.
The young Princess wore a navy blue mourning coat with formal a hat for the first time, just like her mum's, and donned her first piece of symbolic jewellery.
The delicate pin was a diamond-encrusted horseshoe, nodding to the late Queen's great passion for equestrianism and racing.
Princess Charlotte is known to be learning how to ride horses herself, following the lead of her great-grandmother in her budding fascination with horses.
During the ceremony, George and Charlotte both mimicked their parents' body language in a bid to stay strong for William and Kate throughout the procession.
Judi James told The Sun that Prince George looked 'heartbreakingly sad' for his father Prince William, and showed 'concern' during the procession.
"George also mimicked some of his father’s body language, checking and smoothing his suit jacket like a grown-up," she added.
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte was spotted sweetly mimicking her mother's actions during the state funeral, as she tipped her hat gracefully just like Kate.
As they walked inside, Charlotte also flicked her long hair back over her shoulder, as Kate has often done.
Many royal fans took to Twitter to praise the two young royals for how they conducted themselves during the funeral.
One viewer said: "Well done to George & Charlotte who behaved impeccably. Proud to be #British."
"Prince George and Princess Charlotte setting the example of kids participating in the service," added another.
A third agreed: "George and Charlotte are actually so adorable, my heart."
