Royal Ascot is well underway after the first round of races took place on Tuesday. Among the many royals in attendance on the opening day was Princess Beatrice and her husband 38-year-old Edoardo Mapelli Mozzie.
The 33-year-old royal's outfit was a floaty pink flowered dress, which she teamed with raffia accessories including a belt, a clutch with 'B.Y' emblazoned on it, likely referring to Beatrice York, and fascinator which was topped with pink flowers. As is customary at Ascot, Princess Beatrice was spotted wearing a name tag attached to her dress.
But this year, it looked very different to the name badge she had worn on previous occasions. This time the tag read: "HRH Princess Beatrice, Mrs Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi", The Mirror reports. It was a nice addition to note her married name, after she announced in July 2020, she and property developer Edo had tied the knot.

It's the first year the couple have been in attendance since their marriage. In June 2021, Princess Beatrice was absent from the scaled-down Royal Ascot, as the couple had only just announced in May 2021 that they were expecting a baby. They welcomed their daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, a few months later in September.
Beatrice, who is tenth in line to the throne, was also pictured greeting her uncle Prince Charles with a kiss on the cheek, but one person not in attendance was her grandmother, The Queen. Despite the 96-year-old monarch's absence, she had penned a note, saying: "After the challenges of recent times, this year’s royal meeting provides a long-awaited opportunity for supporters of racing from all over the world to come together for five days of outstanding sport. Once again, it is thrilling that horses from around the globe have travelled to Royal Ascot to compete at the highest level.”
Royal blogger Gert's Royals tweeted: "The name tags at Royal Ascot tend to refer to people very formally. And following the old tradition of addressing married women by their husband’s name. On the name tags today: Beatrice is “HRH Princess Beatrice Mrs. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi” Zara is “Mrs. Michael Tindall”," they explained.
Royal fans were also delighted to see the couple in attendance, Anna Sologuba penned on Twitter: "Princess Beatrice looks beautiful. So is her husband. Lovely couple". Whilst Luma tweeted: "Wonderful to see new royals at the role. Princess Beatrice seems like a new breath of fresh air to the firm."
