With just one more day to go before Her Majesty's state funeral at Westminster Abbey, emotions will certainly be running high behind palace walls.
However, there is one event today (September 18) that could provide some much-needed relief as The Queen's youngest great-granddaughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, is marking her first birthday. Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi's daughter was born in at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London and was named after The Queen.
The public are yet to see any official pictures of Sienna but we have been afforded a number of updates from those closest to the private couple.
On September 18, 2021, Beatrice and Edoardo welcomed their daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi into the world. Beatrice is also a step-parent to Edo's son Christopher Woolf 'Wolfie' from his previous relationship with architect Dara Huang.
While there are no official photographs of Sienna, the announcement of her birth was confirmed by the palace and later by the couple on social media.
In a post alongside a painting of Sienna's feet, Princess Beatrice wrote: "We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi".
The meaning behind Sienna's first name was explained by a family friend in HELLO! Magazine.

The source revealed: "They were looking for an Italian name which started with an S for Sarah, to honour the Duchess [ Sarah Ferguson ], and also reflected the golden rust colour of both the Duchess's hair colour and Beatrice's, which the new baby shares."
And, much like her other cousins, Princess Beatrice chose to honour her grandmother by including 'Elizabeth' in Sienna's name.
The desire for an Italian link stems from Edoardo's own family and his aristocratic links to Italian nobility.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Edoardo's father, Count Alessandro Mapelli Mozzi, explained: "Edoardo is the only male descendent taking the family into the next generation. He is a count, his wife will be a countess automatically and any of their children will be counts or nobile donna.”
While Sienna is undoubtedly a beautiful name, some royal fans were hoping that the couple would choose to follow a family trend that The Duchess of York started and Princess Eugenie carried on.
Sarah has a well-documented fascination in the life of Queen Victoria and even served as a producer on the 2009 film 'Young Victoria'. Her interest runs so deep, in fact, that she named her two daughters after her.
Princess Beatrice was the name of the Queen’s youngest daughter with Prince Albert and all three of Princess Eugenie’s names (Eugenie Victoria Helena) follow the same trend.
Eugenie was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria (she later became Queen Eugenie of Spain) and Helena was another of the Queen’s daughters.
The princess carried on this trend when her son, August, was born in 2021. The name August was one of the names of Queen Victoria’s husband, Prince Albert. He was christened as Franz Albert August Karl Emanuel.
Another potential royal link in the young royal's name is to Prince Augustus, Duke of Sussex - an eccentric son of King George III and favourite uncle of Queen Victoria. As a result, many were hoping that somewhere in Sienna's name would be a link to Queen Victoria to carry on the sweet family tradition.
