Prince William has 'no plans' to speak to Harry in wake of Netflix drama, claim friends

Prince William is reportedly not in the mood to speak to his brother any time soon, as the royal fallout from Harry and Meghan's Netflix documentary rattles on.

Friends of William claim the Prince of Wales has no intention of connecting with Harry any time soon following the accusations he has levelled at the royals in his most recent outburst on Netflix, reports the Times.

Both Buckingham and Kensington Palace have remained silent over Harry’s allegations that the Prince of Wales left his brother terrified after screaming and shouting at him during the Sandringham summit.

Harry also claimed in his controversial six-part series that Kensington Palace “lied to protect my brother” when it issued a statement denying a story William had bullied him out of the royal family.

And he accused Charles of lying at the tense Megxit crisis meeting with the Queen in January 2020.

One friend of William's told the Times: “I don’t think a great deal has really surprised anyone. It has been pretty obvious that things have been very strained for a while. There is sadness at where things currently are with his brother.”

Despite reportedly being hurt by the allegations, Charles is said to be taking a reconciliatory approach to the situation with an invitation to his coronation on May 6 if they wish to attend.

The Sussexes are understood to have not yet received an invitation.

The King also reportedly does not want to strip the Sussexes of their titles in the wake of the documentary.

There remains speculation that the pair may give up their royal titles as the fallout from their Netflix docuseries continues to simmer.

A poll conducted after the latest episodes were released, commissioned by the Daily Express, showed that 62 percent of respondents think that Harry and Meghan should relinquish their royal titles.

Only 25 percent said they should keep them with 13 percent saying they ‘Did not know.’

However, sources close to The King have reportedly made it clear that he will not support MPs who want to strip any members of his family of their formal titles.

Downing Street has said that Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is also not in favour of such action.

Tory MP Bob Seely is seeking to amend the 1917 Titles Deprivation Act to give the Privy Council power to downgrade Harry and Meghan’s royal status.

But without Government support, his efforts are in vain and constitutional experts have warned that it would be technically difficult to amend the 1917 Act, which was aimed specifically at a handful of German aristocrats fighting against Britain in the First World War.
